CREA Lab is a workshop for students and flutists who want to develop new professional tools to learn how to (1) manage their emotions during performances, (2) perform original and unpublished music for flute ensemble, and (3) build an artistic profile with personal content.
In an intensive collaboration with peers/students, you will create an entire performance by blending disciplines such as music, theater, dance, video, and electronics. While your specialization remains the foundation of your performance, you are encouraged to experiment with other talents, such as movement, improvisation, and collective writing.
The goal of the course is to explore these skills, bring them to an operational level, and ultimately acquire tools for stage awareness that will enhance your public performances.
An important aspect is that the creative process largely takes place in a group context. You learn to combine your ideas with those of the group and to create a coherent and high-quality final product, supporting each other and providing feedback.
The resulting performances are unique because they stem from the creative input of the entire group and often have an experimental character.
The content of the productions is largely determined by the input and interests of the participating students. During the process of creating and developing the artistic content of the performance, students will be guided by the coach to tackle the creative process at a conceptual level and to develop, elaborate, and convey the theme of the project.
CREA Lab is aimed at curious and creative students who are willing to work in a group and actively contribute to an original musical performance. It is important to have the desire to develop other skills beyond the main subject of one’s educational path, as each student will be involved in all parts of the creative process, from concept development to rehearsals, production, and performance.
